Beyond the Sun is an Italian Board Game by Dennis K. Chan published by Ghenos Games. Beyond the Sun is a game for 2-4 players lasting approximately 90 minutes recommended for ages 14 and up. Beyond the Sun is a space civilization game where players collectively decide the technological advancement of mankind at the dawn of the Space Age, as they compete with each other to be the leading faction in galactic economic development, science and influence. The game is played over a variable number of rounds until a certain number of end-game results are collectively claimed by the players. The winner is the faction with the most victory points, which are earned by researching technologies, improving their economy, controlling and colonizing systems, and completing various objectives and events throughout the game. On a turn, a player moves his action piece to an empty action space, then takes that action. It then conducts its production phase, producing ore, growing its population, or exchanging one of these resources for another. Finally, they can claim up to a conquest if possible. As players take action, they research new technologies which are available in four levels. Each technology is of four types (scientific, economic, military, commercial), and higher-level technologies must correspond to one of the types of technology that lead to it. Thus, players create their own tech tree in each game, using these actions to increase their military strength, to jump into different habitable exoplanetary systems, to colonize those systems, to increase their resource production, to develop an android technology that it allows for growth without population, and more.
